Trade revenue in Yen Bai city reaches over 9.4 trillion VND

YBO - By the end of August, the total revenue of commercial and service establishments in Yen Bai city reached over 9.4 trillion VND, up 637 billion VND over the same period last year.

Yen Bai now has 4,218 commercial and service providers, including 415 enterprises and 3,803 business households. These units generate jobs for 11,680 labourers with an average income of 5-7 million VND per month. 

Trade and services were severely affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in the first eight months of 2021, especially accommodation, food and drinking, and transport services.

However, the locality has recorded the emergence of 265 online business establishments, which reached many customers.

Many Facebook groups selling clothing, real estate, handicrafts, furniture, and food have been formed, helping promote consumption of goods and improve business efficiency in the locality.

Additionally, there are nine providers of fast delivery services in Yen Bai city, basically meeting the demand of good transport and delivery.

In 2024, Nghia Lo Town developed seven new products meeting the 3-star OCOP standard and reevaluated seven products after three years of certification.

The global Halal market is valued at approximately USD 5 trillion annually, with a strong demand for cinnamon and tea products. This presents significant export opportunities for Yen Bai Province.

In 2024, Yen Bai City achieved vocational training for 2,259 individuals, exceeding the target of 1,790 by 115%. Of this total, 578 people were trained at the college level, achieving 125% of the assigned target of 461.
