Yen Bai Has 180 Workers Employed in the Middle East

  •  Monday, February 24, 2025

Currently, approximately 180 workers from Yen Bai Province are employed in the Middle East, primarily in construction, supermarket sales, mechanical engineering, and domestic work. Their employers provide accommodation and meals, as well as labor insurance in accordance with the regulations of the host countries.

Labor cooperation between Vietnam and Middle Eastern countries is based on a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on human resources collaboration. The Middle Eastern labor market is considered highly promising and well-suited for Vietnamese workers, including those from Yen Bai.

Countries such as Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Qatar, and Dubai are actively recruiting Vietnamese workers. Compared to other labor export markets, the Middle East offers advantages such as lower costs and more accessible recruitment conditions, creating significant opportunities for job seekers.

Between 2016 and 2024, around 180 workers from Yen Bai were employed in the Middle East in sectors such as construction, supermarket sales, mechanical engineering, and domestic services. They earned stable incomes, with a base salary of approximately $550 per month and an average income ranging from $550 to $700 per month.

To continue expanding labor opportunities in the Middle East, Yen Bai Province plans to promote agreements with countries that have not yet signed labor cooperation treaties. This will establish a legal framework to facilitate labor export and protect workers' rights. Additionally, the province will enhance awareness campaigns about the Middle Eastern labor market, warn against fraudulent recruitment practices, and take measures to prevent and address violations related to overseas employment.
