Yen Bai leader works with Indian business delegation

YênBái - Chairman of the People’s Committee of Yen Bai province Tran Huy Tuan has worked with a business delegation from India's Rajasthan state, led by A. K. Jain, Chairman of the Business Association, who came to explore the local investment and business environment.

The delegation comprises representatives of companies operating in various sectors, including electricity, electronics, electric cables, switching equipment, solar power, construction, agricultural product processing, fertiliser, education, information technology, garment and textiles, mechanical engineering, mineral processing, natural stone, cement, plastic and packaging, pharmaceuticals, finance, and insurance.

Tuan briefed the guests on the basic natural conditions, recent socio-economic development achievements of Yen Bai, its strengths and policies designed to attract foreign investors.
He emphasised the province's development orientations which combine economic and social development with environmental protection and the preservation of natural resources.

Priority will be given to luring investment in deep processing of minerals, agricultural products, tea processing for export, bamboo shoot exports and medicinal plant cultivation and processing. It also committed to providing support for projects in terms of infrastructure and electricity as well as tax exemptions in line with State regulations.

Currently, there are six Indian businesses operating in the province with four projects underway, worth 28.3 million USD in total.

For his part, A.K Jain stressed that the visit of the business delegation to Yen Bai will create opportunities for investment promotion between Vietnam and India, and between Yen Bai province and Rajasthan state. It was also a chance for businesses from Rajasthan to thoroughly explore investment prospects in the province, he said.
