Yen Bai city holds meeting in response to Workers' Month

YênBái - On May 7 morning, Yen Bai city’s Federation of Labour held a meeting in response to the Month for Workers and the Action Month on Occupational Safety and Hygiene in 2023 with the theme “Connecting workers, building up organisations”; “Intensifying the building of safe working procedures and methods and improving working conditions and reducing stress in the workplace”.

For the effective and substantive implementation of the months, trade unions in Yen Bai city continue to step up the dissemination of laws, policies, knowledge and skills on occupational safety and hygiene with suitable and diverse forms.

They have also coordinated with leaders of units and businesses in carrying out solutions to ensure safety for trade unionists and employees at the workplace; providing support for those facing difficulties due to job loss, job cuts, work stoppage, illness and diseases; organising patriotic emulation movements among employees, including each grassroots trade union organising at least one practical activity for members and employees, and each official, trade unionist and employee having at least one initiative and one practical deed in celebration of the all-level trade union congress in Yen Bai city.

On this occasion, three grassroots trade unions with excellent achievements were awarded certificates of merit from the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour. The provincial Confederation of Labour, and the Yen Bai city Federation of Labour also gave 90 gifts worth 500,000 VND (21.3 USD) each to unionists and employees living in difficult circumstances. Two union members were given funding to build houses from the provincial trade union social fund.
