YênBái - Many activities were organised in Yen Bai province on the occasion of Tet (Lunar New Year) 2023, including visiting, presenting gifts to and supporting social policy beneficiary families and those with difficult circumstances.

The provincial Veterans Association, in coordination with donors, handed over 30 packages of Tet gifts for members with difficult circumstances and policy beneficiary families in localities throughout the province.
The trade union of the Vietnam Bank for Social Policies (VBSP) gave 430 packages of Tet gifts to 300 policy beneficiary families and poor households in Lang Thip and Lam Giang communes, Van Yen district. Each gift is worth 700,000 VND (30 USD). The funding comes from the contributions of officials and union members of the VBSP.
The provincial Women's Union joined hands with Samaritan's Purse International Relife, a US non-governmental organisation, to deliver gifts to members with disadvantaged circumstances in Ban Mu commune, Tram Tau district. The union presented 200 sets of gifts, including warm blankets, food and necessities, worth 394.6 million VND.
The Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of Nghia Lo town has launched a car wash programme to raise funds for children from families with difficult circumstances on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2023.
Yen Bai Police, in collaboration with the Immigration Office under the Ministry of Public Security’s Immigration Department, organised a charity programme entitled "Warm clothes for children and accompany border women” at Vu A Dinh Primary School for Ethnic Minorities in Nam Co Commune, Mu Cang Chai district. As a result, 700 books and stories, 56 pieces of warm clothes, 56 blankets, 40 boxes of instant noodles, 10 gifts and a television were given to teachers and students in the locality.
