From the beginning of the year, Yen Bai authorities directed localities to encourage residents to proactively prepare land and seedlings so that afforestation could commence as soon as weather conditions permitted. Nurseries were also instructed to ensure an adequate supply of high-quality seedlings to meet local demand.

Additionally, the province launched extensive awareness campaigns, calling on people to participate in the "Eternal Gratitude to President Ho Chi Minh Tree Planting Festival," which received strong public support.

As of the end of February 2025, more than 2,880 hectares of new forests had been planted, including over 2,340 hectares of scattered trees. The primary tree species selected by locals include acacia, beech, magnolia, and cinnamon—varieties well-suited for developing large timber forests, a strategy aimed at increasing household income.

To ensure the healthy growth of the newly planted trees, Yen Bai's forest rangers have been actively working at the grassroots level, directly guiding residents on site preparation and tree care. Additionally, authorities have conducted inspections of forestry seedling suppliers to ensure quality, while strengthening forest protection and fire prevention efforts. These measures have significantly enhanced the province’s forestry production efficiency. In February alone, timber production in the province reached 32,630 cubic meters, an increase of 45% compared to the same period last year.
