Construction starts on section connecting Nghia Lo with Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway

Work started on June 23 morning on a road section connecting Yen Bai’s Nghia Lo district with Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway. This is the first bidding package of the linking road to be implemented.

This is one of the key projects of the province and relevant localities in the 2022-2024 period.

The project connecting transport in northern mountainous provinces has a total investment of over 5.3 trillion VND (235 million USD). It comprises two roads with a total length of 200km. The first one connects Lai Chau with Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway with a length of 147km, while the second links Nghia Lo to Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway with a length of 53km.

According to the approved design, the bidding package XL09 has a total length of 20km, with the starting point at Km00 (Intersection IC14 of Hanoi - Lao Cai Expressway) in An Thinh commune of Van Yen district, and the end point at Km20 (Km20+667 of provincial road 175) in Mo Vang commune of Van Yen district.

The road is in line with the policy of transport development in northern mountainous provinces, helping complete the regional traffic network, enhance connectivity and trade between the northern mountainous provinces, including Yen Bai province with the Red River Delta localities in order to maximise the efficiency of Noi Bai - Lao Cai expressway, shorten the road linked to economic and cultural centres of the region, thus contributing to promoting socio-economic development and ensuring local security and defence.

The completion of Son Luong - Sung Do - Nam Muoi inter-commune road makes it easier for people to trade goods and foster local socio-economic development.

Yen Bai aims to lure 60-80 investment projects each year.

A mountainous locality with many difficulties, Yen Bai has defined investment attraction as a key solution to boost the local socio-economic development.
