Work starts on road linking Yen Bai and Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway

YBO - The provincial People’s Committee started construction of a 44-km road connecting National Road 32 and the Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway in a ceremony held in Gia Hoi commune, Van Chan district on January 9.

Having total investment of 420 billion VND, the road will connect the National Road 32 section in Gia Hoi and the intersection of the Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway and the Provincial Road 166 in Dong An commune, Van Yen district.

The project, scheduled to finish before November 2023, is expected to complete the transport network from the eastern to the western part of the province.

A day prior, work also began on a project on developing inter-regional transport infrastructure to support socio-economic development in Yen Bai’s poor districts.

The project has total investment of over 913 billion VND. It includes the construction of a 29.43km stretch connecting Khanh Hoa commune, Luc Yen district, and An Binh communes, Van Yen district, which receives soft loans from Saudi Arabia.

Expected to be operational in January 2024, the project aims to link the Luc Yen, National Road 70 and Noi Bai - Lao Cai Expressway and create a transport corridor among districts of Yen Bai and Tuyen Quang, Ha Giang, Lao Cai and the capital city of Hanoi.

The completion of Son Luong - Sung Do - Nam Muoi inter-commune road makes it easier for people to trade goods and foster local socio-economic development.

Residents in Van Chan district donated land to build over 100km of roads in 2023, of which over 96 km were asphalted. To date, all inter-commune roads and over 84% of inter-village roads have been paved.

Yen Bai aims to lure 60-80 investment projects each year.

A mountainous locality with many difficulties, Yen Bai has defined investment attraction as a key solution to boost the local socio-economic development.
