Yen Bai holds activities in response to 2nd Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day

YBO – Yen Bai province kicked off activities in response to the second Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day, including a book exhibition, on April 25, on the occasion of the Liberation Day and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - 2023).

The Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day and the exhibition are annual activities aimed to encourage people of all social strata to read books so as to develop the life-long learning movement in the community. They are also meant to promote communications to raise public awareness of the reading culture and call on all-level authorities, sectors, social organisations, and people to participate and make contributions so that the Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day can become a meaningful event attracting the public’s attention and support.

Notable activities in response to the Day include a book exhibition, book arrangements, book introduction, and experiencing reading softwares.

At the opening ceremony, the provincial Department of Information and Communications launched a movement encouraging the development of the online book reading culture, unveiled an "e-bookstore” of Yen Bai province, and started a book summarisation campaign. Relevant agencies also signed a deal on a programme deploying the book reading and listening platform for Vietnamese people in the province.

The e-bookstore of Yen Bai was built basing on this book reading and listening platform for Vietnamese people.

On this occasion, representatives of sponsors also presented accounts and cards for accessing online learning and testing softwares, along with a number of books to libraries of schools across the province.
