In recent months, Yen Bai Province’s tourism sector has achieved notable results, with a sharp increase in visitor numbers and tourism revenue making a significant contribution to the province’s socio-economic development. These positive outcomes provide a strong foundation for Yen Bai to strive toward its 2025 tourism targets of welcoming 2 million visitors, including 300,000 international arrivals.

Thanks to the vigorous implementation of various measures to promote tourism and attract visitors during major holidays—especially the April 30 – May 1 holiday and the 2025 summer season—the number of tourists, particularly international ones, has risen sharply. In the first four months of 2025, Yen Bai welcomed and served nearly 950,000 visitors, reaching over 47% of the year’s plan and marking a 6% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Of these, more than 111,000 were international tourists—an impressive 8.8% rise year-on-year. Total tourism revenue is estimated to exceed VND 810 billion, up nearly 15% compared to the same period last year.

This encouraging progress can be attributed to strengthened oversight by provincial authorities to ensure organizations and individuals comply with legal regulations in providing tourism-related services and maintaining safety for visitors. The province has also accelerated the implementation of tourism support policies, facilitating conditions for enterprises and individuals to expand operations and improve service quality.

In the coming period, localities across Yen Bai will continue to innovate in developing tourism products, modernize promotional methods, and enhance the application of digital technology in tourism activities. These efforts aim to reinforce Yen Bai’s image as a "safe and friendly” destination for both domestic and international travelers.
