According to Trieu Van Huan, Secretary of the Party Committee of Muong Lai commune, green fences have brought about tangible benefits to the environment and the community. Plants help purify the air, reduce noise pollution, mitigate soil erosion, and provide habitats for wildlife. The fences create nice landscapes and enhance the quality of life for residents.

All community centres in Muong Lai built between 2020 and now have opted for green fences instead of walls. For those with existing walls, flowers and trees have been added. Many households in the commune have also adopted this model for their home.

A wide variety of plants suitable to local climate conditions and soil characteristics are used across the district, including tea, bamboo, and areca nut palms. To encourage participation in the movement, the district administration has implemented support policies such as offering free seedlings and technical guidance on planting and caring for plants.

To date, thousands of metres of the living fences have been planted along roads and community centres, contributing to the improvement of the local environment and landscape and the development of eco-tourism.

To sustain the momentum of the movement, the district continues launching communications work to mobilise the engagement of people from all walks of life, while providing technical and seedling support for them. This initiative is also integrated with activities such as the "Weekends with the Community" programme and the building of new style rural areas in residential areas.
