Governor Kim welcomed the Yen Bai delegation and appreciated Secretary Duy’s sentiment towards Gangwon. He also highly valued the growing relations between Vietnam and the RoK.
Informing his host about the socio-economic situation, potential, and advantages of Yen Bai, Duy expressed his hope that the two localities will sign a cooperation agreement soon to enhance opinion exchanges and seek opportunities for cooperation between their administrations, associations, and businesses in order to foster ties in such fields as economy, investment, trade, tourism, education - training, high-tech agriculture, processing, and timber trading.
He also called on Gangwon to share information and experience in white stone exploitation and processing technology, as well as in carbon credit market development with his province.

+ At the working session with the administration of Gangwon’s Donghae city, Duy expressed his delight that Yen Bai province and Donghae city share many similarities in different fields. Particularly, both have identified "people’s happiness” as part of their targets, impetuses, and development orientations.
Donghae Mayor Shim Gyu-eon said he is impressed with Yen Bai’s achievements in socio-economic development, noting that his city and local businesses are ready to receive people from Yen Bai, especially highly-skilled workers, coming to study and work.
At the event, Secretary of the Party Committee of Yen Bai’s Tran Yen district Tran Nhat Tan and Mayor Shim handed over the memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation in labour and investment in the silk industry.
During the visit, officials of the Yen Bai Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs and representatives of Donghae’s industry and trade office discussed cooperation in employment and welfare for Vietnamese workers, including those from Yen Bai.

+ Earlier, the Yen Bai delegation visited and had a working session with the Songgok University during which the Yen Bai Vocational College signed an MoU with Songgok, a leading private school established in 2003 in Gangwon province.
At this meeting, Secretary Duy spoke highly of the modern infrastructure of Songgok.
He voiced his hope that the MoU between the Yen Bai Vocational College and the Songgok University will generate tangible benefits for both sides, thereby helping develop high-quality human resources for the Vietnamese province and create opportunities for Yen Bai workers to seek job chances in the RoK.
