Notably, the agro-forestry-fishery sector grew 5.29%, the highest in the northern midland and mountainous region.

Seven more communes were recognised as new-style rural areas, nine as advanced new rural areas, and four as model new rural areas, raising the accumulative number of communes winning the status to 106, or 70.7% of the total communes in the province.

Industrial production also remained stable, and services expanded by 6.03%, making Yen Bai rank 11th among the 14 localities in the region.

The province paid attention to infrastructure, especially transport routes within the region and connecting it with others, thus creating momentum for local socio-economic development.

Thanks to drastic actions, digital transformation was conducted effectively. Progress was also made in cultural and social affairs, with poverty rate dropping by 3.76%, surpassing the set plan.

Yen Bai successfully organised a ceremony to mark the 65th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s visit to the locality.

A provincial master plan for 2021-2023 with a vision towards 2050 was announced. Yen Bai city also won the second-tier status in the year.

Efforts were made in ensuring national defence-security, and social order and safety, Party and political system building, and raising the efficiency of State management.

Such efforts paid off as the province’s happiness index increased to 65.62%, surpassing the set plan by 2.32%.

The achievements recorded in 2023 and over the past three years will lay a foundation for Yen Bai to grow further in the time ahead, reaping more fruits and completing tasks assigned by the 19th-tenure Party Organisation.
