Yen Bai leader works with representatives from General Confederation of Italian Industry

YênBái - A working delegation of Yen Bai province led by Do Duc Duy, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, visited and had a meeting with representatives from the General Confederation of Italian Industry (Confindustria) and Breton S.p.A company on October 10, during their trip to Italy.

The delegation was received by Confindustria deputy head Alessandra Polin, Breton S.p.A Chief Executive Officer Dario Toncelli, Confindustria members and representatives from Padua region’s businesses.

At the meeting, Duy said that the geographical location as the gateway to the Northwest and at the midpoint of one of the key economic corridors Kunming - Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong, and a relatively diverse transportation system are favourable conditions and opportunities for Yen Bai to speed up integration and boost economic and trade exchanges, socio-cultural development not only with other provinces in the region, major economic centres in the country but also with other countries, especially the southwestern provinces of China and ASEAN countries.

In addition, Yen Bai boasts potential in the mining and energy sectors such hydropower, biomass power, solar power, mineral processing, and high-quality construction materials, especially white marble; and in tourism development, wood processing, and processing of key agricultural products. It also has abundant labour resources.

Therefore, Duy expressed his hope that the Confindustria will introduce businesses, investors, and its member companies to Yen Bai to explore investment cooperation opportunities, particularly in the fields of white marble production and processing, garment technology, plantation wood processing, tourism services, and energy industry.

He appreciated the model and effectiveness of cooperation between Breton and Yen Bai’s Bao Lai White Marble Company Limited, considering this a model for production and business cooperation between partners.

Yen Bai is always willing to accompany businesses and create conditions on land, tax policies, investment incentives and procedures to make it convenient for them to invest in priority areas in accordance with the province's orientations, especially projects with high technology, and added value. Through the Vietnam Trade Office in Italy, the province will regularly provide information for businesses to learn about, access and invest in the locality, he affirmed.

At the meeting, leaders of the Confindustria and businesses in the Padua region expressed their impression with potential of Yen Bai and their wish to come to Yen Bai as soon as possible to explore opportunities for investment cooperation in the province.

Breton S.p.A, a private company founded in the 1960s, currently has 1,000 employees with 16 subsidiaries in various countries. Operating in four main areas of natural stone, artificial stone, digital technology, and precision mechanics with annual sales of over 260 million EUR.

The Padua region, the heart of Northeast Italy, is a developed industrial area in Italy with centres such as Milano, Turin and the port of Genoa, and also one of the largest industrial and economic regions in Europe with more than 7 million people and 600,000 companies.
