Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha presents the Prime Minister’s decision approving Yen Bai’s development planning during 2021-2030 with a vision to 2050 to the provincial Party Committee, authorities and people.

The event is part of activities held to mark 65 years since President Ho Chi Minh’s visit to the province (September 25, 1958-2023).

Under the Prime Minister’s Decision No. 1086/QD-TTg dated September 18, 2023 on approval of Yen Bai province’s development planning, the locality spans more than 6,892 square kilometres with nine district-level administrative units, including Yen Bai city, Nghia Lo township, and seven districts of Mu Cang Chai, Tram Tau, Van Chan, Van Yen, Tran Yen, Luc Yen and Yen Binh.

The planning aims to capitalise on all potential and advantages of the province; accelerate the application of science-technology, digitalisation, and innovation, while mobilising all resources for comprehensive and sustainable development.

The move is expected to bring Yen Bai into the top five leading provinces in the northern midland and mountainous region, and turn it into a locality with comprehensive and sustainable development by 2050.

Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha presents the Prime Minister’s decision recognising Yen Bai city as a second-tier urban area to the city Party Committee, authorities and people.

As a second-tier urban area, Yen Bai city has affirmed its role as a development hub and a driver of the province’s growth, and is striving to be among the cities that drive the development of the northern midland and mountainous region.

The city’s achievement is attributed to the concerted efforts and devotion from generations of local leaders, military and people.

The art programme at the ceremony leaves lasting impression on local people and visitors.

The folk dance performance draws the participation of 2,023 Yen Bai city dwellers.
