Yen Bai showcases over 50 products at 7th China - South Asia Expo, 27th China Kunming Import & Export Fair

YBO– The 7th China - South Asia Expo and the 27th China Kunming Import & Export Fair opened in Kunming city of China’s Yunnan province on August 16. Yen Bai province has two booths displaying over 50 export products and local “One Commune, One Product” (OCOP) items with export potential.

The exhibitions attract representatives of 30 countries and territories, along with businesses from more than 20 provinces and cities of China.

Vietnamese officials present at the opening ceremony included Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang and officials of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Tran Huy Tuan, Deputy Secretary of the Yen Bai provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee, led the Yen Bai delegation to the events.

The 7th China - South Asia Expo, themed "Solidarity and Coordination for Common Development”, features 15 exhibition zones covering 150,000 square metres with about 8,000 standard booths.

At the expo, there are 150 booths of nearly 80 Vietnamese businesses from such localities as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Binh Thuan, Binh Phuoc, Dong Nai, Da Nang, Thanh Hoa, Yen Bai, Tuyen Quang, Lao Cai, Ha Giang, Thai Nguyen, and Bac Ninh, making the zone of Vietnam the biggest among the ASEAN countries attending the event.

Vietnamese products on display include farm produce, processed food, cashew nut, peppercorn, coffee, dragon fruit, cassava, coconut products, footwear, perfume, wood products, and handicrafts.

Showcased at the two booths of Yen Bai are more than 50 export commodities and OCOP products with export potential, including technical porcelain products, superfine stone powder, block stone, sawn stone, mineral samples, colour roof tiles, and such wood products as compressed wood and wooden chopsticks.

Three- and four-star OCOP products of the province like cinnamon bark, cinnamon essential oil, Suoi Giang and black tea, fresh Bat Do bamboo shoots, Luc Yen red-testa peanut and Seng Cu rice, along with specialities such as dried fish of Thac Ba Lake, dried pork, and dried buffalo meat are also introduced to visitors.

The events are scheduled to last through August 20.
