Over 278 bln VND to help Yen Bai realise sustainable poverty reduction

YênBái - More than 278 billion VND (11.5 million USD) has been earmarked to help Yen Bai province implement the National Target Programme on Sustainable Poverty Reduction in 2023.

From capital sources of the national programme, the province has invested in 23 transition projects, and seven new investment projects to develop regional socio-economic infrastructure in the two districts of Tram Tau and Mu Cang Chai.

The province has also provided training facilities and equipment for Yen Bai Vocational College, Yen Bai College, Nghia Lo Ethnic Boarding Intermediate School, Luc Yen Intermediate School and two Vocational Education Centre in the districts.

Yen Bai has opened vocational training classes under a project on developing education and sustainable employment, and implemented communication and training activities to improve capacity of staff working on poverty reduction.

Nearly 1,600 houses will be built and repaired under a project on housing support for poor and near-poor households in 2023, in which there are 828 houses belonging to poor households of ethnic minorities, and 177 poor and near-poor households of the Kinh ethnic people living in extremely difficult communes and villages in the two districts.
