Yen Bai honours outstanding blood donors in 2023

The Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation Promotion of Yen Bai province has held a conference to honour collectives, families and individuals with outstanding contributions to the voluntary blood donation movement in 2023.

Over the years, the local voluntary blood donation movement has been developing strongly with a rising number of donors and collected blood units through years.

In 2021, the province collected 6,000 blood units, which was raised to 6,160 units from 7,500 donors in 2022, reaching 103% of the assigned plan.

In the first five months of 2023, blood donation events organised by the provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation Promotion and its chapters in districts, Yen Bai city and agencies drew 2,882 donors, with 1,994 blood units.


President of the Yen Bai Red Cross Society Ha ThiNgoan presents the certificates of merit from the Vietnam Red Cross Society to collectives and individuals with outstanding performance in encouraging people to donate blood and support blood donation activities.

Donating blood is a gift that healthy people present to the needy, helping them maintain life. Through voluntary blood donation programmes, many collectives, families and individuals have emerged as good models by donating their blood for many times.

At the conference, 10 collectives, 20 individuals showing outstanding performance in encouraging people to donate blood and support blood donation activities received certificates of merit from the provincial People’s Committee and the Vietnam Red Cross Society.

Meanwhile, 100 outstanding blood donors were also honoured at the event./.
