Yen Bai’s aquatic product output up 9.8 percent in H1

YênBái - Yen Bai province’s total aquatic product output reached 6,363 tonnes in the first half of 2021, a year-on-year increase of 9.8 percent.

Yen Bai’s Yen Binh district strives to have 2,500 – 3,000 fishing farming cages by 2025.

Of the total, the aquaculture output accounted for a majority, with 5,838 tonnes, up 11.38 percent.
The weather conditions have been favourable for aquaculture over the past six months. Local farmers have paid more attention to infrastructure development and application of technology.
Local administrations have offered financial assistance to cage farming, with each household, cooperative and business receiving between 5 million – 10 million VND per cage while encouraging fish farming using nets in Thac Ba lake and Van Hoi lagoon.
