Yen Bai creates jobs for over 80,000 female workers

YênBái - Yen Bai province generated jobs for over 80,000 female workers during the 2011-2020 period, accounting for 43.3 percent of the new employments.

Vocational training and job generation are one of the effective solutions to promote gender equality among rural women.

Of the figure, female workers in rural areas under the age of 45 provided with vocational training and professional techniques is 66,480.
As many as 27,872 workers in poor communes and ethnic minority-inhabited areas have got access to preferential loans through employment programmes, poverty reduction and official credit sources with 734 billion VND channeled through 954 credit groups. Currently, the percentage of female business owners is 26.6 percent.
To achieve these positive results, the National Programme on Gender Equality has been carried out in Yen Bai since 2011 with the aim of narrowing the gender gap in the field of economy, employment and labour.
Yen Bai has also synchronously deployed measures and close cooperation has been maintained between relevant agencies, sectors, socio-political organisations and localities, businesses and workers.
