The Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan co-organised  the event to promote Vietnam’s farm produce and food.

At the conference, the enterprises were informed about the Japanese market, its import requirements, and consumers' taste along with ways to access the market.

With its huge land potential, the northern mountainous province of Yen Bai has formed a number of material growing areas and produced diverse agricultural and forestry products.

The locality has nearly 8,000ha of tea that yield about 90,000 tonnes of fresh tea buds and more than 30,000 tonnes of dried tea of different types. Yen Bai’s tea products have been shipped to foreign countries like Russia, Germany, Pakistan and China.

More than 70,000ha of cinnamon in Yen Bai also provide 20,000 tonnes of dried cinnamon each year.

Yen Bai’s cassava powder, which has high quality and meets international standards, has been exported to Japan, Taiwan (China) and the Republic of Korea.

The conference offered a good opportunity for enterprises in Yen Bai to promote the export of agricultural products and food to Japan.
