Accordingly, 640 gifts, 225 coach tickets and 13 charity houses have been presented to workers, state employees and labourers with difficult backgrounds. A provincial-level Tet (New Year holiday) event was held at the An Tien Industries JSC, gathering 370 workers.

In the first four months of 2021, the unions’ social fund has been used to offer emergency aid to 23 members and to visit 19 others working at the Unico Global Yen Bai Limited Company. During the Workers’ Month this year, 185 gifts will be presented to disadvantaged labourers.

According to Nguyen Chuong Phat, President of the provincial Labour Confederation, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour launched the month with three key activities this year, including a programme on 75,000 initiatives for overcoming difficulties and development, which aims to collect and introduce workers’ ideas.

As a result of the programme, active participants will be honoured, while workers’ aspirations and thoughts will be heard.

To date, 188 initiatives put forwards by trade union members in Yen Bai province have been registered.
