Mua A Sang in Na Hang hamlet, Mo De commune, had lived in poverty. After joining training classes on cultivation and husbandry, and self-learning from successful economic models, in 2017, the man engaged in a goat rearing project launched by the association.

With his savings and a loan worth 50 million VND from the district’s fund in support of farmers, Sang built a farm with four nanny goats, which expanded to a herd of 50 goats three years later. 

Each year, the farmer sells 20-25 goats, earning more than 100 million VND. 

Apart from Sang, there are many role models in economic development in Mu Cang Chai, like Thao A Chu in Pu Nhu hamlet, La Pan Tan commune, with a duck farm; Chang Thi Ca in Na Hang hamlet, Pung Luong commune, with a chicken farm; Sung Chu Co in Pu Cang hamlet, Nam Khat commune, with a Shan Tuyet tea processing model; Mua A Cau who raises goats in Mo De commune, and Vu A Tua with a buffalo and cow rearing model in Ho Bon commune, among others.  

Last year, the association joined hands in opening three vocational training classes and 27 training classes on science-technology for its members and piloted growing 1,000 sq.m of Hoang Sin Co ginseng in La Pan Tan commune, and 8,100 sq.m of sweet grass in Ze Xu Phinh, La Pan Tan and Pung Luong communes. 

Its officials also had chances to learn from experience of outstanding economic models in and outside the province. 

The association instructed the formation of two co-operatives, 20 cooperation groups, and three "One Commune, One Product” (OCOP) products at the district level, while encouraging 2,100 member households to register for the title of farmers good at production and business. 

In the first three months of this year, the association debut two safe cooperation groups in buffalo, cow and pig rearing in Lao Chai commune.
