Olympic Run for Public Health launched in Yen Bai province

YênBái - The People’s Committee and Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Yen Bai province on March 28 organised a ceremony to launch the campaign “All people do exercises following the example of great Uncle Ho” during 2021-2030 and the Olympic Day Run for Public Health in 2021.

To date, some 40.6 percent of the local population do regular exercises, with more than 24,000 households obtaining the "sport family” title. The province is now home to over 600 sport clubs.

People from all walks of life have enthusiastically responded to the annual Olympic Day Run for years.


Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Vu Thi Hien Hanh and leaders from the provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism present flags to participants at the launch ceremony.

In 2019, the provincial People’s Committee issued Plan No.239 on improving quality of public sport activities during 2020-2025. Last year, it issued Plan No.74 on organising Sport Month for all and the Olympic Run Day for Public Health during 2020-2030.

Right after the launch ceremony, the provincial leaders and local people ran in response to the two events.
