Along with typical products such as Tu Le sticky rice, Suoi Giang Shan Tuyet tea, Van Yen cinnamon, dried bamboo shoots, vermicelli, mushrooms, and fish from Thac Ba lake, Yen Bai products on display on the second floor of BigC Thang Long also include high quality ones such as Gioi Phien vermicelli, dried bamboo shoots, dried buffalo meat and dried pork.

In 2022, three processed products from fish farmed in Thac Ba lake - strabismus fish, fish sausages, and dried shredded fish - have been put up for sale at the Big C supermarket chain.

In order to be qualified for sale at big supermarkets like Big C, along with being certified as provincial OCOP products and ensuring food safety, Yen Bai agricultural products must meet strict requirements in all production stages.

Vu Thi Thu Huong, manager of Hai Ha fisheries company which has supplied three products of strabismus fish, fish sausages, and dried shredded fish to Big C, said that in the Yen Bai agro-fisheries product week, the firm signed contracts with Central Retail in providing these products to Big C Thang Long trade centre in Hanoi.

Le Manh Phong, Managing Director of Big C&Go! supermarket chain in the north of Central Retail Vietnam, said that the Big C&Go! supermarket chain of the firm has sold Yen Bai products such as dried bamboo shoots, vermicelli, dried buffalo meat, and Tu Le rice for five years. He said that the products have been preferred by consumers with sales rising through years.

This is a chance for Yen Bai’s agro-fisheries products to reach more consumers inside and outside the country in the coming time, he held.
