In the period, the province presented over 20,000 gifts to poor households on holidays, lunar New Year (Tet), assisted the building of houses for more than 400 poor families, and supported students living in difficult circumstances in buying books and learning tools. The Fatherland Fronts at all levels also coordinated with socio-political organisations to guide poor households in economic development and poverty reduction while establishing models of helping each other reduce poverty sustainably and supporting each other with seedlings and breeders.

The support from the Fatherland Fronts has helped over 12,500 local households get out of poverty, thus contributing to reducing the province’s average poverty rate in the 2016-2020 period by 4.93%.

In response to the "For the Poor” Month in 2022, from mid-September, the provincial Fatherland Front issued an appeal to agencies, organisations, units, businesses and people of all classes to continue their donation to the "For the Poor" Fund and the social welfare programme of Yen Bai province in 2022. Accordingly, employees, officers and members of the armed forces contribute at least one day's salary; each small business household donate at least 50,000 VND; each household in urban areas support at least 20,000 VND; and at least 10,000 VND for those in rural areas./.
