New bridges inaugurated in Van Chan, Yen Binh districts

YênBái - The Yen Bai provincial Association for Promoting Education recently coordinated with the Vietnam Association for Promoting Education (VAPE), the Dan Tri e-newspaper, and the People’s Committees of Van Chan and Yen Binh districts to inaugurate two bridges named “Khuyen hoc - Dan tri” (Education promotion - Intellectual level).

The bridge in Khe Ken hamlet of Cat Thinh commune, Van Chan district, was invested with 517 million VND (22,000 USD), including 500 million VND donated by the Thanh Hoa Construction Corporation and another 17 million VND by the DONATION - LECTRA company via VAPE and the Dan Tri e-newspaper.

Meanwhile, the bridge in Suoi Hoc hamlet of Ngoc Chan commune, Yen Binh district, was built at the cost of 1.5 billion VND, including 1 billion VND donated by a resident in Hanoi, 140 million VND by Dan Tri readers, and 360 million VND from the local budget.

The two facilities are important to local travel demand and goods transportation, helping boost socio-economic development and ensure safety for students on their way to schools in the rainy season.

On this occasion, VAPE presented 100 million VND to the Yen Bai provincial association to assist underprivileged students. Among them, 80 students in Cat Thinh and Ngoc Chan communes received gift packages worth 500,000 VND each.
