Yen Bai works hard to lift urbanisation ration to 28% - 30% by 2030

YênBái - The urbanisation rate of Yen Bai province has averagely reached 20.28% with 12 urban areas, including one Grade-3, one Grade-4 and 10 Grade-5 urban areas.

According to the locality’s urban development programme to 2030, a project will be implemented to upgrade Yen Bai city to a Grade-2 urban area; Nghia Lo town Grade-3; and Mau A, Co Phuc and Yen Binh township Grade-4.

Adjustments to the general planning of Mau A and Yen The township will be built, and that of Mu Cang Chai township also adjusted.

A construction planning project, and another to recognise 10 new urban areas meeting the criteria of Grade-5 urban area will be developed.

Speaking at a meeting on the urban development programme to 2030 of the locality held by the provincial People’s Committee, its Chairman Tran Huy Tuan asked relevant sectors and agencies to pay more attention to urban management and development, and accelerating and improving the quality of urbanisation and sustainable urban development in accordance with master plans.

Yen Bai’s average urbanisation rate is expected to reach 26-28% by 2025, and 28-30% by 2030.

The province targets being home to 26 urban areas, including one Grade-2, one Grade-3, four Grade-4 (Co Phuc, Yen Binh, Mau A and Yen The townships), and 20 Grade-5 urban areas.
