Tran Yen aims to plant 125 hectares of “Bat do” bamboo shoots in 2021

YênBái - In 2021, Tran Yen district in the northern mountainous province of Yen Bai plans to grow 125 hectares of “Bat do” bamboo shoots in its four communes of Luong Thinh, Hong Ca, Kien Thanh and Hung Khanh.

Last year, the district planted 212.8 hectares of "Bat do” bamboo shoots from February to the end of April, 6.5 percent higher than its plan.

Currently, the district has 3,576 hectares of "Bat do” bamboo shoots, with an output of 29,600 tonnes.

The district’s "Bat do” Bamboo Shoot Management Board has designed plans and assigned officials to coordinate with communes to encourage local farmers to register their new farming areas of the plant, while working with the district’s forest management station to review and examine the qualified farming areas before planting./.
