The classes have been organised in Kien Thanh commune, Tran Yen district, Dai Son commune in Van Yen district, Tan Huong commune in Yen Bình district, Minh An commune in Van Chan district, and Khai Trung commune in Luc Yen district, attracting 200 learners aged between 8 and 65.

The ancient Nom-Dao script is an ideographic script and is quite difficult to learn. It takes at least 2 or 3 years of continuous study for a person to read and write the script. Classes are held in the evenings so that learners can attend after work.

Most ancient Nom-Dao books teach people about life and rituals, how to behave, and taboos to avoid. The Dao ethnic language is at risk of being lost due to many factors.
