In recent days, locals in Mu Cang Chai township have become familiar with the image of youngsters wearing blue shirts from the "F0 support team,” who have provided foodstuff, medicine and necessities for COVID-19 patients and families with members undertaking quarantine at home.

Operating from 9am to 3pm, members of the teams come from the HCYU of the township, the local public security force and State agencies in the locality.

Ha Van Kieu, Deputy Secretary of the HCYU Committee of Mu Cang Chai, said that as the pandemic broke out in the locality, amid a shortage in personnel and financial resources to deal with the pandemic, HCYU members have actively worked to support COVID-19 patients and their families.

Similar to the "F0 support team,” the "Shippers in blue” is an effective model launched by the HCYU of Yen Bai city. Along with assisting COVID-19 patients, the committee has encouraged donors and members of the union to present gifts to needy patients.

Since the beginning of this year, the Yen Bai city HCYU has presented 120 packages of necessities worth over 42 million VND, along with 200 packages of medicines worth 60 million VND to the elderly and disadvantaged people, and needy COVID-19 patients.

Alongside, the HCYU at all levels in the province has strengthened communications on COVID-19 prevention and control measures, rejecting fake news and initiating new and creative models in the work.

At the same time, members of the union have popularised measures to improve physical and mental health among COVID-19 patients, and provided the community with knowledge on pandemic prevention and control as well as the Health Ministry’s guidance on home treatment. They have also helped with disinfection activities in households.
