Many students in Yen Bai get high marks in high school graduation exams

YênBái - As many as 6,942 students of the 12th grade in the northern mountainous province of Yen Bai, or 97.91 percent of the total, are expected to graduate from the high school this year.

Data show that there are 1,630 exam papers getting 9 marks and above during the recent high school exams. Of them 28 papers received the maximum mark of 10, including two recorded in history, two in English, one in chemistry, and 23 in civic education. 

The provincial Department of Education and Training said a total of 7,090 students in Yen Bai sit for the exams. 

Eight out of 35 schools in the province are set to have all of their students passed the exams, namely Nguyen Tat Thanh High School for Gifted Students, Nguyen Hue High School, the provincial Ethnic Minority Boarding High School, Nghia Lo High School, Mien Tay (Western region) Ethnic Minority Boarding High School, Chu Van An High School, Tran Phu High School and Nam Bung Secondary and High School. 

This year’s national average mark is higher than that in the previous year. Therefore, universities are predicted to set higher marks for enrollment.
