Yen Bai province holds 10th patriotic emulation congress

YênBái - The 10th patriotic emulation congress of Yen Bai province took place on August 20, bringing together 215 delegates who are role models in local emulation campaigns.

The event saw the attendance of Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh, who is also First Vice President of the Central Council for Emulation and Reward. 

Over the past five years, emulation movements have brought about practical outcomes across spheres, significantly contributing to completing the province’s targets and tasks. 

Yen Bai’s gross regional domestic product (GRDP) is predicted to grow 7.3 percent this year, and 6.65 percent annually during the 2016-2020 period. Meanwhile, its GRDP per capita in 2020 is estimated at 42 million VND, a 1.5-fold rise from 2015. 

The province has rolled out an array of emulation campaigns, for example building new-style and civilised urban areas, innovation and creativity in education; building working culture in public offices, and joining hands in poverty reduction, among others, through which exemplary models have been found. 


Vice President Dang Thi Ngoc Thinh presents first-class Labour Order to Duong Van Thong, Standing Vice Secretary of the provincial Party Committee and head of the delegation of National Assembly deputies in Yen Bai. 

As many as 4,756 collectives and more than 7,500 individuals have been honoured by the Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee over the past five years. 

At the congress, five collectives and 15 individuals were awarded the Labour Order by the State President. Nineteen outstanding collectives were presented the emulation flag, and 34 other collectives and individuals received certificates of merits of the Prime Minister. 

The provincial People’s Committee also granted certificates of merits to 20 collectives and individuals that have made outstanding performance in patriotic emulation movements in 2015-2020, and 75 collectives and individuals in recognition of their efforts in the campaign of studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s thought, morality and lifestyle during the 2018-2020 period.
