Under the instruction, local departments, agencies and the provincial steering committee for COVID-19 prevention and control should promptly roll out synchronous measures to track local residents who have been to Da Nang and other epidemic-hit areas. 

Those who returned from the central city of Da Nang and other pandemic-hit areas within 14 days have to make medical declarations, quarantine themselves at home and test for the coronavirus. 

Apart from encouraging local residents to seriously observe COVID-19 prevention and control regulations, relevant agencies must continue close supervision to detect illegal immigrants in order to put them in quarantine in line with regulations. 

The health sector must keep updated on the developments of the pandemic to provide timely recommendations to the provincial People’s Committee on pandemic control, while intensifying preventive measures at medical facilities. 

The police of Yen Bai city and districts should strictly manage the movement of residents, especially foreigners residing in the localities, workers at production facilities, students at schools and guests at lodging facilities. 

Locals have also joined efforts of the entire political system and authorities in the fight. 

Nguyen Thi Hang in Dong Tam ward, Yen Bai city, said along with cleaning up her house, she and her family members regularly use hand sanitisers and wear masks when going out. They also canceled their vacation plan. 

Local markets have resumed the operation of anti-COVID-19 teams, checking body temperatures of market goers and asking them to wear face masks. 

Transportation companies have responded actively with various measures. Le Truong Giang, owner of a coach service between Yen Bai and Hoa Binh province, said the company has prepared hand sanitisers, dustbins with lids and body temperature meters. 

Drivers, assistants and passengers are required to wear face masks, he said, adding that all the coaches are disinfected before and after each trip. 

All local shops and commercial centres have also required customers to clean their hands with sanitisers before shopping. Local residents have acquired the habit of wearing a face mask before going out.
