The provincial People's Committee has directed the Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism, authorities of Yen Bai city, districts, and towns to restore tourism activities in the "new normal” state.

The locality is focusing on designing tourism stimulus packages and experience tours of local destinations to attract domestic and foreign visitors. 

It gives priority to promoting new tourism destinations and products, including Le Champ Tu Le Resort; Suoi Giang tea space, and spiritual tourism sites, while developing community-based tourism, adventure tourism and ecotourism products. 

Hotels, restaurants and tourism sites have been encouraged to reduce their service charges, thus attracting more holiday-makers to the locality. 

The paragliding festival "Flying over the pouring water season” in  Mu Cang Chai district at the end of May will be the first activity to restart tourism activities in Yen Bai. It will be followed by culture and tourism festivals: Muong Lo Culture – Tourism Week and a programme to explore the national landscape of Mu Cang Chai terraced fields; the Van Yen cinnamon festival, the "Mau Thuong Ngan” (the Mother Goddess of Forest) worshipping festival. 

In the year, the province will introduce Xoe Thai, a traditional dance of Thai ethnic minority people, and the national landscape of Mu Cang Chai terraced fields in Hoi An ancient town in central Quang Nam province. 

Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Duong Van Tien said the local authorities will launch an event in response to the programme "Vietnamese people travel Vietnam" on the occasion of the paragliding festival "Flying over the the pouring water season”, and introduce high-quality tourism services and products with preferential prices to vistors. 

Travel businesses must seriously implement their commitments to offering promotions when participating in the programme, in order to ensure a safe, friendly and quality tourism environment, Tien said.
