Aside from requesting localities to lower their pandemic levels within the next 10 days, he demanded the anti-COVID-19 steering boards of localities, departments, and sectors ramp up anti-pandemic measures, strive to control the local pandemic situation, and quickly contain the surge of new infections.

The leader told localities across the province to lower their pandemic levels (from Level 4 to Level 3, from Level 3 to Level 2, and from Level 2 to Level 1) so as to return the "green zone” status to Yen Bai on the COVID-19 map.

He also asked them to accelerate COVID-19 inoculation and ensure that no one is left unvaccinated or just partly vaccinated; ready all the infrastructure, equipment, personnel, and locations necessary for the vaccination of children aged 5 - 11 after vaccine supplies are available; and organise safe, scientific, rational, and effective vaccination in line with the health sector’s guidance.

The localities need to review each residential area, house, and resident while raising public awareness of the vaccination, which is all people’s interest and also responsibility towards themselves, their families, the community, and the country as a whole. They were requested to pay special attention to the elderly, persons with comorbidities, those unable to reach vaccination sites, people with disadvantages, and vulnerable groups.

Besides, it is necessary to step up the check of anti-pandemic measures at agencies, organisations, and businesses, especially manufacturing establishments, markets, supermarkets, and coach stations, according to the Chairman.

The provincial steering committee for COVID-19 prevention and control will also send three teams to inspect all the nine district-level localities.
