YênBái - On the occasion of the 91st founding anniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) (November 18, 1930-2021), Van Yen district held a ceremony to announce the title of new-style rural area of Tan Hop commune along with the National Great Unity Festival.

The event was attended by Politburo member and standing member of the Party Central Committee's Secretariat Vo Van Thuong; leaders of the VFF Central Committee; representatives from central ministries and agencies; and leaders of Yen Bai province. 

With the motto of "State and people work together, with internal strength playing core role along with State’s investment and support”, after 10 years of implementing the national target programme on new-style rural area building, local residents of Tan Hop commune, who are mostly Dao, Tay and Mong ethnic minorities, have completed all 19 criteria of a new-style rural area. 

To date, 100 percent of communal roads and roads from the commune’s centre to the district’s roads as well as roads connecting villages have been concretised, while all irrigation, power supply works, the health care station and schools as well as cultural establishments have been built to meet locals’ demands. 

The living conditions of local residents have been improved, with per capita income in 2021 reaching nearly 39 million VND and the ratio of poor households reduced to 2.28 percent.

Congratulating the Party organisation, administration and residents of Tan Hop, Thuong expressed his delight to attend the ceremony to receive the title of new-style rural area, a very important event of the commune, in coincidence with the National Great Unity Festival, a large festival of people across the country. 

He affirmed that solidarity has helped the country overcome all difficulties to become richer, stronger and more civilised. He stressed the need for all people to continue to join hands in implementing tasks to make life better and further develop the homeland. 

Lauding the high sense of solidarity of local residents of Yen Bai in pandemic prevention and control to maintain the "green zone” title amid COVID-19, Thuong suggested that Yen Bai should continue exerting efforts to effectively prevent the pandemic, promote socio-economic development, thus sustaining a wealthier and happier life.
