Yen Bai moves to develop greenery space

YênBái - With the goal of building an urban area in accordance with the trend of smart and green development, the People's Committee of Yen Bai city has built the “urban tree planning and development in Yen Bai city by 2025” project to plant trees along roads, thus meeting the requirements of urban landscape and environment.

In 2021, the city plans to invest 14.5 billion VND to plant new urban trees. Along with receiving the system of trees from projects in the province, the per capita urban greenery area increases to 7.8sq.m, and public greenery land in the city reaches 5.94sq.m per person.

Communes and wards have concentrated on planting trees in amusement parks, sub-parks and along roads, implementing the plan to develop the urban tree system in 2021, with focus on the Government's project to plant 1 billion trees and the plan to grow 10,000 urban trees in 2021 in accordance with the Resolution of the 20th congress of the city Party Committee.

During 2020 - 2025, the city strives to plant at least 60,000 new urban trees. In the first eight months of 2021, 8,070 urban trees were planted (81 percent of the yearly plan) and additional 57,560 trees were grown in rural areas.


The city also put into operation a pedestrian street in the area of Hao Gia Lake in Dong Tam ward, while completing infrastructure of Ly Dao Thanh pedestrian street, investing in construction of Au Co and Nguyen Tat Thanh flower roads streets, and embellishing and renovating lakes.

In addition, the city has promptly made the land use plan for 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050; issued Resolution No.22 protecting the environment, improving capacity of climate change response, and serving green and sustainable growth in Yen Bai city during 2021 - 2025.
