Over the last five years, in the spirit of "Solidarity, creativity, proactive integration, helping to develop Yen Bai province”, local women have upheld  traditions, tapped into their potential and creativity, and enthusiastically taken part in patriotic emulation movements and campaigns, thereby helping to improve the awareness of 154,000 members at 1,394 women’s unions at the grassroots level.

Across Yen Bai, there are 195 exemplary collectives and individuals in studying and following late President Ho Chi Minh’s ideology, morality, and lifestyle. Many creative models have been applied during the implementation of the "Building families of five nos, three cleans” campaign, the national target programme on building new-style rural areas, and the "All people stay united to build new-style countryside, civilised cities” campaign.

During the five years, women’s unions at all levels helped 6,055 households to adopt the "five nos, three cleans” criteria (no poverty, no law violations or crimes, no domestic violence, no third children, and no malnourished or dropped-out children; clean house, clean kitchen, and clean road). Nearly 5,400 more households have met all the eight criteria, raising the province’s total number to over 108,500 - equivalent to 78 percent of the membership.

While more than 26,900 households of member women have gained access to loans to develop livelihoods, 5,353 households have been assisted with almost 6 billion VND (over 264,000 USD) to escape from poverty. The "Women excel in doing business” movement has involved nearly 2,800 more households, bringing the total in Yen Bai province to about 7,500. As many as 588 cooperative groups, 24 cooperatives, and 14 businesses owned by women have been helped to be established. More than 1,300 women have also received aid to start a business.

The congress elected 39 persons to the 16th-tenure provincial Women’s Union Committee, for the 2021 - 2026 tenure. Nguyen Thi Bich Nhiem, President of the provincial Women’s Union in the 15th tenure, was re-elected to this post in the 16th term.

The event adopted a resolution that features five development orientations, eight main targets, one emulation movement and one campaign, along with two breakthroughs and three focal tasks for the 2021 - 2026 tenure.
