Mu Cang Chai popularises slogan against COVID-19

Mu Cang Chai district in Yen Bai province has come up with a slogan in both Kinh and Mong languages to raise public awareness of the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

Given the complex developments of the epidemic, and under national and provincial instructions, the Standing Board of the Party Committee of Mu Chang Chai district issued a directive on measures against the disease in mid-March.

Apart from popularising relevant instructions and the 10 must-dos that are set for residents across the province, Mu Cang Chai, where the Mong ethnic group makes up 90 percent of its population, has transformed the precautionary measures into a simple slogan in both Kinh and Mong languages.

The slogan has been disseminated among locals through a network of loudspeaker. (Photo below)

Communication groups come to each house and hamlet, using loudspeakers, to encourage people to follow the slogan…

…and to deliver face masks.

The district Party Committee has also instructed the Fatherland Front and socio-political organisations to set up 129 sites in hamlets and communes, where people can wash their hands with soap.

This new method makes it easier for local ethnic minority people to follow instructions on COVID-19 prevention and control, and should be duplicated in other localities./.
