The event attracted seven teams from Mu Cang Chai District in Yen Bai Province, Bac Yen District in Son La Province, and Sa Pa Town in Lao Cai Province. Participants showcased unique performances of the Mong panpipe, reflecting the cultural diversity of the regions and the Mong ethnic group. These displays celebrated the teams reverence for their ethnic heritage.
The competition concluded with the organizing committee awarding first, second, and third prizes to the top-performing teams. The Mong Panpipe Competition serves as a platform to preserve and promote the traditional musical art of the Mong people, including panpipe dances, melodies, and rituals deeply rooted in their cultural and spiritual life.
The event also provided an opportunity for performers and artisans from different districts and communes to connect and exchange ideas.
This effort aims to safeguard the cultural essence of the Mong panpipe while fostering solidarity among local communities. Additionally, the competition promotes Mu Cang Chai as a cultural and tourist destination, contributing to economic development and poverty alleviation.
