Despite the impact of Typhoon Yagi, which caused a 40% drop in tourist numbers in September, Yen Bai has still recorded impressive figures with strong growth in visitor numbers since the beginning of the year.
According to a report from the Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, in the first 10 months of 2024, Yen Bai welcomed over 1.114 million visitors, an increase of 51.58% compared to the same period last year. Notably, tour group visitors reached 1,883 groups, increasing 4.6 times, with a total of 2,581 days of stay, a 4.2-fold rise over 2023.
The province has set a target of attracting 1.7 million visitors by the end of 2024, including 300,000 international tourists, generating revenue of 1,500 billion VND.
These numbers not only demonstrate the growing appeal of Yen Bai's tourism but also highlight the effectiveness of its strategy to connect cultural preservation with tourism development, opening up many opportunities to make Yen Bai a leading destination on Vietnam’s tourism map.
