Project to upgrade road crossing four communes of Van Yen district

YênBái - A project to repair and upgrade a road running through Xuan Ai, Vien Son, Yen Phu and Yen Hop communes in Van Yen district with a total investment of 75 billion VND (3.28 million USD) was launched last weekend.

The route, which is designed in accordance with the fifth-tier mountainous road standards, has a length of over 22km, connecting central roads and the four communes with provincial road 166.

The repair and upgrade of the route, along with another project to upgrade provincial road 166 and bridges in the road, is expected to considerably improve the travel conditions for locals, ensuring safety for students in the flooding season, and promoting goods exchange and trading, thus boosting social-economic development in the area.

The project has received support from 916 households in the four communes who donated more than 24 hectares of lands, nearly 50,000 cinnamon trees and 8,000 trees of different kinds as well as many valuable assets, contributing to speeding up the implementation of the project.

Addressing the launching ceremony, Secretary of the Yen Bai Party Committee Do Duc Duy highly valued the strong consensus and support of locals in Xuan Ai, Vien Son, Yen Phu and Yen Hop communes as well as their land donation, enabling the fast ground clearance for the project.

He asked the investor and contractors to complete the project within nine months.

On the occasion, the provincial People’s Committee presented certificates of merit to 10 households who donated land for the project, while the People’s Committee of Van Yen district also complemented 11 other outstanding households.
