The results were attributable to the district’s effort to mobilise the engagement of the entire society in taking care of public health, enhancing the quality of medical services at grassroots level, implementing national programmes and projects on health care, and strengthening pandemic prevention and control.

Alongside, the district has focused on improving medical workers' quality for the sector to meet local residents’ need for medical services. Medical stations across the locality have been equipped with basic equipment for operation.

Over the years, Tran Yen has received resources from foreign-sponsored projects to build, repair and upgrade its infrastructure system. In 2017 and 2018, the district built the health care stations of Hung Thinh, Viet Hong and Minh Quan communes using foreign assistance, and upgraded the health care station of Minh Tien, Y Can, Minh Quan, and Minh Quan communes using funding from the new-style rural area building programme. In 2019, the health care stations of Luong Thinh, Hong Ca communes were constructed, while that of Kien Thanh commune was upgraded at total cost of 16.6 billion VND.

Many health care stations have been equipped with ultrasound machines, patients’ beds, dental kits, steam inhalers and blood sugar meters.

The major task of the locality in 2021 is to maintain the achievements in building the local health care system and help all 21 communes keep up with the national standards in this field.

To this goal, the district pays attention to upgrading and repairing health care stations, while continuing to improve the professional capacity of medical staff in communes, and ensuring the steady operation of communal medical stations.

The communal health care stations have combined modern and traditional medicines in treatment, thus raising the ratio of patients treated using traditional medicine at the stations to 30 percent. They have also implemented medical programmes as well as examination and inspections on food safety, resulting in the occurrence of no food poisoning case.
