Yen Bai to receive over 20 aid projects from foreign organisations

YBO - A total 52 foreign non-governmental organisations (NGOs) have registered to operate in Yen Bai.

In 2020, those organisations implemented 40 aid projects, whose funding commitment totaling 18 million USD, of which 4.7 million USD were disbursed. 

The NGOs have basically complied with Vietnamese laws and regulations.

In 2021, Yen Bai plans to approve and receive over 20 aid projects from foreign NGOs, embassies, individuals, and organisations, with capital disbursement expected to reach 130 billion VND.

Most aid projects are in the sectors of education-training; health; agro-forestry-fishery and rural development; social affairs; environmental protection and climate change response.

Chairman of the Yen Bai provincial People's Committee Tran Huy Tuan hosted a local reception for Vice Ambassador of Australia to Vietnam Cherrie Russel and a working delegation from the Australian Embassy in Vietnam.

She went on to say that Hekou district pledged to popularise the images of Yen Bai city in particular and Yen Bai province in general so that more international friends know about the Vietnamese locality.

A friendly talk and exchange programme has been held between Yen Bai city of the northern province of Yen Bai and a delegation of Hekou district in China’s Yunnan province.
