As many as 180 exemplars representing nearly 136,000 children across Yen Bai attended the province’s sixth Uncle Ho’s Good Children Congress last week

YBO - Over the last five years, nearly 282,000 local members of the Ho Chi Minh Vanguard Children’s Union (HVCU) have registered to take part in the HVCU member training programme. Among them, more than 168,000 have received programme completion certificates, and over 270,000 have been granted with the “Uncle Ho’s Good Children” title.

Local children have actively engaged in many movements such as those on complying with the five teachings of late President Ho Chi Minh, doing good deeds, and assisting their less privileged peers.

The 180 delegates at the congress are exemplary HVCU members and bright examples in learning and self-improvement, representing the new-era children of Yen Bai province. Many of them are excellent HVCU cadres and students with high achievements at all-level contests, including innovation, informatics and sports competitions.

Addressing the congress, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Do Duc Duy congratulated and commended the delegates for their prominent attainments.

He expressed his hope that Yen Bai children will continue making efforts in learning and self-improvement, following the five teachings of President Ho Chi Minh, and playing a proactive role in the HVCU’s activities, thereby helping to build a stronger HVCU, uphold former generations’ revolutionary tradition, and contribute to local development.

On this occasion, the provincial People’s Committee presented merit certificates to 50 children with outstanding achievements in following the five teachings of President Ho Chi Minh in the 2015 – 2020 period.
